About me
Steven Schulman joined Akin as its first full-time Pro Bono Parnter in 2006, responsible for the global pro bono practice as well as chariable giving directed to legal aid organizations with which the firm works. Steven has also worked closely with the Legal Services Corporation to advocate for Congressional appropriations and has likewise worked with New York legal aid organizations to protect state IOLA funidng. His substantive law practice focuses on human rights and refugee matters, including asylum and signfiicant federal litigation under the Torture Victim Protection Act.
