About me
Joy Springfield is a licensd attorney and the Statewide Director of Pro Bono Services for Kansas Legal Services . Ms. Springfield is licensed to practice law in Kansas and Missouri.
Before joining Kansas Legal Services, Joy Springfield worked at Shook, Hardy & Bacon representing major consumer, tobacco, medical device, and pharmaceutical companies in mass and class actions. Her practice involved handling complex product liability, business, and pharmaceutical litigation in both federal and state courts. Alongside her civil practice, Joy devoted hundreds of hours to pro bono work through Kansas Legal Services and the LAWMO Voluntary Attorney Project, providing representation to low-income clients in family law, consumer law, transgender name changes, GAL, and guardianship issues.
Joy also maintains an active role in the legal and broader community through various leadership positions. She is a Review Committee Member for the Kansas Board for Discipline of Attorneys and a member of the Kansas Bar Association Access to Justice Committee. Her commitment to service is further reflected in her work as a board member for some community and national organizations, as well as her ongoing involvement in state and local bar associations. Joy earned her J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law and holds a Bachelor’s in Finance with a minor in Spanish from the best HBCU – Howard University.
