About me
Sheila Winkelman Pont is a founder and the current Pro Bono Director of Pro Bono Network. In this role, she collaborates with nine legal aid organizations to expand access to justice by creating pro bono opportunities that address critical community legal needs while providing attorneys with the structure, training, and support necessary to deliver high-quality legal assistance. She monitors new projects to ensure they are effective, scalable, and sustainable, while also overseeing a robust portfolio of 15–20 programs at any given time. Sheila also leads programmatic strategic planning efforts and has played a key role in developing and launching a new attorney training model that has helped increase attorney participation and engagement while improving volunteers’ confidence in taking on pro bono matters outside their usual areas of practice. Sheila has been published in law reviews and other legal publications, and she holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan and a joint J.D./M.S.W. from Washington University in St. Louis.
