Sarah Lahlou-Amine is a Shareholder at Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney's DC office and proudly serves on the firm's Pro Bono Committee. Practicing in both Florida and DC, Sarah is a seasoned appellate specialist who has litigated hundreds of matters in state and federal appellate courts. Sarah previoulsy led an appellate practice and served as Associate General Counsel for a statewide law firm in Florida, leading cohesive litigation initiatives, aligning stakeholders, and providing internal and external risk management counseling and guidance. She is board-certified in appellate practice by the Florida Bar and CIPP/US certified by the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
Most recently, Sarah served as Director of the D.C.-based Pro Bono Institute Law Firm Pro Bono Project, where she provided consulting services to Am Law 200 firms worldwide, focusing on innovative pro bono models and access-to-justice initiatives. From law school to today, pro bono service has been a throughline in Sarah's career and is fundamental to her identity as a lawyer. A champion of legal aid and former Officer of the Board of Directors of Bay Area Legal Services, Sarah has supported access to justice in her community through direct representation of those who cannot afford a lawyer and the development of numerous partnerships and programs aimed to bridge the justice gap. As a thought leader on the inner workings of our justice system, Sarah frequently hosts and speaks on panels and authors content in the access to justice, litigation, and risk management arenas. She has been recognized by Florida Super Lawyers, Florida Legal Elite, Best Lawyers in America, and Martindale-Hubbell.
