About me
Phil Hwang is the CEO of OneJustice, a nonprofit organization that strengthens the expertise and capacity of nonprofit legal organizations and volunteers to advance justice and equity. OneJustice's areas of expertise include legal aid strategy and impact; leadership and management; program design and evaluation; and policy and advocacy.
Before joining OneJustice, Phil was Executive Director of Community Legal Services in East Palo Alto, and he strengthened his leadership and organizational management skills as a first-time executive director with the support of OneJustice’s Executive Fellowship program.
Earlier in his career, Phil worked as a legal aid and civil rights attorney at the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights of the San Francisco Bay Area and Bay Area Legal Aid. He received his undergraduate degree from Stanford University in 1993 and his law degree from Harvard Law School in 1996.
