About me
Nicole Gorscak (she/her/hers) is a Paralegal with Legal Action of Wisconsin. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a specialization in Criminology and a Minor in Film from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, before obtaining a Post-Baccualaurette Certificate in in Paralegal Studies from Capital University Law School in Columbus, Ohio. She has 16 years’ legal experience working in a variety areas of law including eviction defense, housing, family, criminal, mortgage foreclosures, and civil litigation.
Nicole has been a paralegal with Legal Action of Wisconsin for three years. Legal Action of Wisconsin is the largest non-profit law firm in Wisconsin and provides free civil legal aid to the state’s most vulnerable populations. She currently works with the Overdose Prevention Project and Legal Services for Homeless Veterans project. She is often the first point of contact for potential clients and listens to their stories for appropriate legal issues, program eligibility, and possible referrals to additional community resources. Before working with Legal Action, she was a legal assistant at the State of Wisconsin Public Defender’s office and Legal Aid of Western Michigan.
Nicole has lived in Ohio, Michigan, and Oklahoma before finally settling down in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She lives with her spouse, Kyle, and two pets, Millie (dog), and Judy Blume (cat). In her free time, she enjoys building Lego, taking too many pictures of her pets, and cheering on the Oklahoma City Thunder.
