About me
Melanie MacBride is the Chief Grants & Operations Officer at The Chicago Bar Foundation (CBF), where she oversees and directs the CBF’s grants program and related programs and projects. In addition, she oversees the administrative operations of the CBF, with a lead role in directing finance and audit, human resources, and other key operational activities. Since assuming her role in March 2021, Melanie has worked closely with the many CBF-sponsored legal aid projects and the staff who run these initiatives. Before joining the CBF, she served as the Managing Attorney of the Safety and Family Practice Group at Legal Aid Society of Metropolitan Family Services, where she gained experience creating and supervising innovative and collaborative legal aid programs. Earlier in her career, Melanie worked as a staff attorney at Ascend Justice and DuPage Bar Legal Aid Service. Melanie earned her J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law and her B.A. from the University of Chicago.
