Megan Hennings is the Innovation Lab’s Program Manager & Staff Attorney. In this role, she oversees internal design processes, staff and community engagement, and technology-driven solutions to enhance legal service delivery, particularly in rural communities. She previously served as a Staff Attorney under the Everett Community Lawyer Fellowship in rural North Carolina where she worked on housing, domestic violence, and consumer protection cases.
Megan earned her J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law, where she was a Miami Public Interest Scholar and received multiple awards for innovation and academic excellence. During law school, Megan interned with nonprofit legal organizations, served on the Housing Justice team in the Environmental Justice Clinic, and worked on climate justice projects, including a writing a local policy toolkit on extreme heat and affordable housing.
Before law school, she gained experience in nonprofit administration, external communications, and international education through working at UNC Charlotte and the Kino Bay Center for Ecological & Cultural Studies in Sonora, Mexico. She received her Bachelor’s degree from UNC Charlotte.
