Laura Israel Sinrod is special counsel and resident pro bono counsel in the New York office of Fried Frank. As pro bono counsel, Laura is responsible for directing Fried Frank’s overall pro bono program and supervising individual pro bono projects handled by other attorneys at the firm, with an emphasis on family law, domestic violence, and reproductive rights.
Laura was previously Corporate Engagement Counsel at Lawyers Alliance for New York, a legal services organization that serves nonprofits in under-resourced neighborhoods and communities in New York City. In that role, she managed the pro bono program for in-house legal departments. Prior to that, she was a Senior Staff Attorney at Her Justice, a legal services organization that provides family law and immigration services to women and gender non-conforming individuals living in poverty in New York City. Previously, Laura was a litigation associate at Fried Frank and completed a one-year fellowship at Her Justice during that time.
Laura is a member of the Pro Bono and Legal Services Committee of the New York City Bar and the Lawyers Council of Family Legal Care.
Laura received her JD, cum laude and with pro bono honors, from American University Washington College of Law, where she was a Marshall-Brennan Fellow, and her BA, magna cum laude, from Tufts University.
