About me
Kay Taylor Hightower, Esq., is a partner at Richburg Career Services, Consulting firm that supports nonprofit organizations through grant writing, prospect research and pipeline building by connecting nonprofit to business, governmental and private funders. For almost nine years, Kay worked at the SC Department on Aging (SCDOA). As the Agency’s Senior Consultant for Outreach and Partnership Building, Kay created new partnerships with organizations like the Office of Rural Health, and the Alliance for a Healthier SC that enabled SCDOA to create new programming and opportunities to help more seniors. The partnership Kay created with Palmetto Care Connections resulted in a digital literacy program that was featured in a story by SCETV.
Kay has been an attorney for over 30 years. She served as an antitrust attorney at New York State Attorney General’s office and at the Federal Trade Commission's New York office. In both positions, she specialized in evaluating potential mergers in the hospital and grocery store industries to determine anticompetitive effects. She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Smith College in Northampton, MA and a Juris Doctor from New York University School of Law. She is licensed to practice law in South Carolina, New York and Pennsylvania.
