About me
Helen Gratil is a national consultant and speaker focused on civil legal interventions for individuals impacted by the opioid crisis – specializing in fundraising, training, and project management. In 2019, Helen raised $2.2 million to launch Beyond Opioids Project, through her role as Legal Aid of Arkansas’ Director of Development. Beyond Opioids is the first statewide justice program focused on helping legal aid clients clear barriers to prevention, treatment, and recovery . She has been a faculty member for the Practicing Law Institute specializing in the intersection of civil legal and substance use disorders. Prior to focusing on the opioid crisis, Helen worked in the United Nations Development program for nearly ten years. A graduate of Vermont Law School, she has done environmental work in the Caribbean, serving as the President of the Board of the Environmental Protection in the Caribbean from 2012-2019. Helen uses her technical expertise to help organizations alleviate the impact of climate events on public health issues such as the opioid crisis.
