About me
Annie Smith is the Wylie H. Davis Professor of Law at the University of Arkansas School of Law where she teaches the Civil Litigation and Advocacy Clinic and Human Trafficking Clinic. Prior to Arkansas, she taught in George Washington University Law School's clinical program. She and her students have represented numerous clients in forced labor and human trafficking, unpaid wage, and other matters. She is a trainer on human trafficking for the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy, a member of the Arkansas Human Trafficking Council and co-chair of its Training Committee. She currently serves as chair of the board of Legal Aid of Arkansas - the statewide organization that provides free civil legal services to eligible low-income Arkansans. Prior to teaching, Annie was an attorney with the Workers Legal Rights and Farmworker projects at Legal Services of New Jersey. Annie received her L.LM. from George Washington University, J.D. from the University of Wisconsin, and B.A. from Brown University. She is licensed to practice law in Arkansas and New Jersey (inactive) and speaks Spanish.
